Museum of the Moving Image
Finally got to visit The Museum of the Moving Image, a small media museum in Astoria, Queens. Apparently, it's been since 1988 and is the only U.S. museum in the to dedicate itself solely to "the art, history, and technology of the moving image."
I didn't take that many photos while I was there, but really did enjoy the visit. The one that I could connect with and had fun seeing was the Jim Henson exhibition. A lot of the older movies and exhibitions at the museum were unfamiliar to me. This is mainly due to how I grew up (without a lot of mainstream American pop culture). The Muppets were something that I could at least say I had personal memories of watching when I was a kid.
I recommend going on a slow night if you're not too far from Astoria and just looking for something to do besides stay home.
