"I remember there was this one moment walking by another Starbucks coffee shop. There was this homeless man who was jus sitting in front of this Starbucks with a lot of commotion going on. He had a Starbucks bag with him too. It just felt... it just felt so American."
I still can't believe I spent last night in the way I did. In a good way.
Not too long ago, my CreativeMornings colleague Paul tore through a package that arrived at the office like a kid at Christmas. The package immediately created a bit of buzz in the office -- it was a special Lego set of the Guggenheim!
Yesterday, Paul and Kyle finally decided to do it for our weekly Friday Winedown activity.
The weather is back in its gloomy funk, and so I decided to shake off the grey vibes with an ice cream break. My very serious declarations of taking an ice cream break were received by my colleague Kyle (our amazing COO + creator of #writeshopweds) and desk mate. Finally at 3pm, I set off!
... Okay, I just set off down the block, hahaha. My destination is literally less than a five minute walk from the office. So here. Come down the block with me on a shop-by-shop tour!
Spent Saturday afternoon relaxing in Madison Square Park. I had a nice view of the Flatiron building and all the people walking by for a few hours. It was refreshing with the nice little breeze and the sun shining at the perfect temperature.
Being painfully tired is (in general) a feeling that's normally unwelcome and a state of being that I try to avoid at all costs. There are only two exceptions to this preference - the day after an intense workout and the day after an intensely jam packed experience.
