Tell Me Where Your Love Lies

The intro for Soulection’s latest show (#385) is the best. It’s a sample and mix from Wayne Valentine’s edit of Love Lies by Khalid & Normani:

I think I’ve replayed it 20 times this week.

The Creative Independent's Guides

I’m liking the helpful guides by The Creative Independent (Kickstarter’s publication) made for creatives. Titles that catch my personal interest:

  • How to turn your art practice into a business

  • A creative person’s guide to thoughtful promotion

  • How to make a zine

  • How to put yourself online

  • How to ask for what you need

  • How to start a podcast

  • An artist's guide to financial planning

You can find all of them on their guides page.

Tortuga Shelves

While I’ve switched to reading on a Kindle these days, I still have several favorites I keep in my room with me. They’ve been taking up space on my open closet shelves and I’ve been hoping to find some floating standalone shelves to put on my room wall. I like the playful shapes on Tortuga’s Requisite shelves! These are the ones designed for small spaces.

KITH Founder Ronnie Fieg on Blueprint

“The hardest part of the job for me and still the hardest job that I do is build or buy into things that I think the consumer is going to want 6 months after you start working on them either from the buying side or production side.

You have to understand what it’s like to be a risk taker, but be experienced enough to understand the cycles and know what’s been gone long enough for people to want it if it comes back just because it’ll be different enough when it does.”

RYSE Hotel

During a short trip to Seoul back in October, I was happy to drop by the RYSE Hotel. I’ve been wanting to visit it ever since I came upon two articles produced by the MAEKAN team earlier this summer: Imperfectly Perfect and Creating a Neighborhood Hotel. While my photos don’t really do it justice in comparison to how it felt in real life, I had a lovely time perusing it for an afternoon.
